The Wisdom of Oriental Medicine and New Pre-diabetes Treatment

Oriental medicine, in particular, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), offers over five thousand years of using plants for treating a variety of diseases. During this process many theories, methodologies and systems have been documented. One of the key concepts of Oriental medicine is that the human body possesses a powerful innate healing ability. It is the imbalance in the subsystems that impairs the self-healing capability. Therefore, Oriental medicine’s approach is to restore the body balance and stimulate the self-healing ability, thus achieving the holistic treatment of diseases such as pre-diabetes.

Oriental medicine believes the human body is composed of more than simply one subsystem. Each system is interrelated and interconnected. Often times, problems cannot be explained and solved just by addressing or targeting the problematic systems alone directly. Instead, one has to analyze the human body as a whole. Not only will the treatment become more effective, but also damage to other systems can be avoided in the process (i.e. avoid side effects).

Many natural methods have been used in Oriental medicine in adjusting the balance of the body to stimulate the self-healing power. For example, regular exercise, proper diet, acupuncture, herbs, etc. Through thousands of years of using herbs, Oriental medicine has accumulated a wealth experience on different herbs. Experience tells us some herbs have shown to be effective on different body parts or micro systems and the side effects that might be associated with using each herb. Furthermore, it is also well documented the superb effect of using a combination of different herbs and at the same time reducing or avoiding side effects. This wisdom is the basis for the Pancreton formula. Unlike many herbal supplements that are produced “mechanically” just by putting different plant components together, this system is radically different.

Hyperglycosemia is the result of decreased functionality or damage to some bodily functions. The common believe is that the cause of hyperglycosemia is either the body’s lack of the ability to produce enough insulin, or that the cells are insulin resistant. Many existing drugs and herbal supplements are used to stimulate insulin secretion and/or reduce insulin resistance to achieve the reduction and control of blood glucose. Normally people feel the drugs taking effect quickly, often after just a few minutes, of taking them. Sometimes it takes more than just one kind of drug to control the blood glucose. By keeping the blood glucose under control, damage to the body can be avoided during the prolonged high blood glucose period. However, the body’s functions, primarily the pancreatic function, do not improve. Over time, an impaired pancreatic function will have a negative effect on other body functions and will eventually cause complications.

Heavily influenced by the wisdom of Oriental medicine, Canfo Natural Product Co., Ltd. ’s Pancreton™ used for pre-diabetes treatment, applies a holistic approach by viewing the human body as a complex, interrelated system. Each body part and system is an integral component of the whole system. A problem associated with one bodily part or system will in turn affect others. For example, an impaired pancreas will eventually lead to complications in other systems. Therefore, a direct-action on one single system will not be sufficient to solve the problem. The goal is to have a comprehensive approach in reconditioning dysfunctional systems to restore health.

The core concept of Pancreton is based on the belief that the human body has an innate healing ability. It is the imbalance of the systems that affects the body’s ability to repair itself. Pancreton uses a comprehensive approach that stimulates and increases the self-healing ability and ultimately restores health.

A comprehensive self-healing process can be observed during the time Pancreton is used. The blood glucose level will not change in the beginning because it requires build-up times for the body to achieve a balanced status and for self-healing. This is not the direct effect of Pancreton, but rather the first sign of the body’s innate self-healing ability toward improving the pancreatic function. It is very important for users to consult their physician at this stage to adjust the dosage of diabetes medications in order to avoid hypoglycemia.

The body's self-healing is a slow process, but through Canfo’s proposed 7 biomarkers (fasting glucose, 2hr postprandial glucose, fasting insulin, 2hr postprandial insulin, fasting c-peptide, 2hr postprandial c-peptide and HbA1c), overall improvement can clearly be seen. With time, one’s pancreatic function will be sufficient to help a person to maintain a normal blood glucose level without any diabetes medications or supplements, including Pancreton.

Pancreton does not lower blood glucose levels directly. Unlike diabetic medications, Pancreton will not lower a healthy person’s blood glucose levels even when more than the recommended dosage is taken. Pancreton’s pre-diabetes benefits are totally different than other supplements or diabetic medications.
