Mentors as opposed to Teachers

When it comes to mentors versus teachers, the big query is which one can help you the most. To be able to experience both the college and amateur world, I can say that mentors are more helpful than teachers. I leaned more in two years under a mentor than I did for 5 trying to decide what I wanted to do in college. The choice, for me, is an effortless one.

Here's the big mystery about teachers: a lot of them may know what they're talking about, but they haven't actually been in the field in years. Due to this, their know-how is all based on years passed when things were likely much different than they are currently. For up to date information, these teachers rely on text books that are also obsolete and missing a lot of information that can't be found outside of an actual career in the area.

I even had a personal experience with teachers who do not teach but instead they only keep on giving you homeworks, present powerpoint presentations, and of course compute the grades. These teachers never actually gave me something and I learned nothing from them. Those kinds of teachers pushed me to think about seeking a career in music, which is something out of the ordinary and does not require me to stay inside the classroom. I desired to learn from someone with first hand experience and without a doubt my wish came true.

It didn't take long for me to take a side in the battle between mentors and teachers. It did not take a lot of time for me to make a recognition after experiencing a hands on training with my mentor. I was able to work with real tools and see how things would proceed in my career. There were no more photos in books or iffy situations. What was happening in front of me was what has now happened in my actual career.

My mentor helped me get hold of connections too. I met my employer and most of the individuals I am associated with through my mentor and these associates assisted me in getting some references for my job applications. I did not have to do anything but be myself and allow my mentor's associates to lead the way.

I'm glad I made the correct decision with mentors versus teachers. Right now, I find myself contented with what I have and I am no longer searching for anything to boost my career. Change is here and it feels absolutely incredible. I only have one wish and that is for everybody to realize that sometimes spending a lot of time inside the classroom can keep you from pursuing your dream, if you wish you can always sign up for a mentorship program and make your dreams a reality.
