Dr. Fred Bloem Q & A

Question:

At the 2 day Wiley Environmental Endocrinology Seminar, physicians found new rationale for handling and diagnosis for their patients. Then they take that cognition and give it to those in want.

Hello, I'm Dana Gillian and I'm speaking today with Dr. Fred Bloem, a doctor with a background in family and internal medicine. He believes in a holistic medical practice involving bioidentical hormones replacement therapy, weight decrease therapy, sustenance, vitality healing and some raw food education. He has offices in Olney, Maryland. So you were present during the two day discourse? What is the significant data you've drawn from that symposium?

Dr. Fred Bloem:

Well, really 2 things. First was the meeting with T.S. Wiley before heading to Santa Barbara. I came to know about her through Susan Somers' book Ageless and her own "Sex, Lies and Menopause." But, meeting her was really impressive. Meeting her made it possible, I had heard about her through another doctor that I spoke with before making the conclusion to come to Santa Barbara. That's how I came to know of her intelligence. I was not frustrated when I came to Santa Barbara. She has a wealth of knowledge on the topic of hormones and connected physiology. So, I was very glad that I came to learn from her.

Next was the assertion. Convening with the other physicians from all over North America who generously impart their thoughts and testimonies.

Question:

As far as your own practice and your own patients, what have you discovered are the most fundamental benefits to women who have been given the Wiley Protocol?

Dr. Fred Bloem:

The very important help is the aid on their common issues. Examples are relief of hot flashes, night sweat troubles, sleeping troubles with memory palpitations in several cases. Another, one is less feasible but the ability to regain their femininity.

Question:

Can you share any specific experiences of patients that have experienced dramatic results or any especially memorable patients you have had from the Wiley Protocol?

Dr. Fred Bloem:

Yes, I would be happy to share with you an example of a patient who's been very successful on the Wiley Protocol. She was 45 years old when she came to me last year. She saw me for weight decrease therapy. But as I met with her, I found that she was actually born without a left ovary and she only had a small right ovary. And because of that she never got to experience having menstrual periods, the only instance she did have was once when she was given Premarin and birth control pills.

She told me that she was unfulfilled for the longest time for not able to have children. She disliked her body type. Her chest was a bit slight. Throughout her life, she fought with clinical depression and based on this account, I advised to her, to give the Wiley Protocol a test and I shared with her the experiences that many of my patients had. She had the process since last June and she felt good results in just one month. She shared with me that she had more vitality. She told me that somehow she sensed that the hormones have modified her body. She noticed that her breasts became bigger in a span of 1 month and she also reported that the emptiness within, or her misery in some way was gone.

She also said that her rest pattern improved and totally feels satisfied. And one of the things that she shared with me also which I felt was very interesting was that she never felt feminine. She had that feeling that she was more like of a man. She was ecstatic to tell me that Wiley Protocol made her feel like a real woman again. I thought that was very interesting. I have patients like that, not exactly like her but patients who go through a tremendous transformation when they start the Wiley Protocol. The Wiley Protocol has been an significant facet of my medical practice.

I consider myself lucky to have come across with the process through my patients book reading on Ageless by Susan Somers. It really makes plenty of sense to me. I have been providing Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy to my patients for about six or seven years beginning with statically dosed bioidentical hormones replacement and from the very beginning, I always wondered what is the right dose of Estradiol and Progesterone for my patients and should I use Estradiol or Biased and for how long should I use it in the cycle.Should I sync it with a ***4:47? I was really baffled about things like that and I really didn't have a good understanding of the lab follow up in terms of what the right dosages of Estradiol and Progesterone should be for women at any given time in the cycle. And so, knowing about the Wiley Protocol really makes plenty of sense to me.

We replace Estradiol and Progesterone and we observed a pattern that we see in healthy young women and so we know that Estradiol, sometimes it should be lower in the cycle and sometimes it should be higher on day twelve. And Progesterone is low during the follicular stage and it slowly rises during the luteal stage, peaks only at 21 and then goes down. And I discovered that that is really the best way for women, young and old, to place their hormones and it doesn't matter whether they're you know perimenopausal or post-menopausal or whether they're younger. I found that in my practice that there are younger women that also have troubles with their menstrual cycle or symptoms that are constant. And it is a warning signal that there is an asymmetry on their Estradiol and Progesterone.
