The National Institutes of Health's Office of Alternative Medicine (OAM) in Washington, D.C. has has given funds for in-depth Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) research projects at twelve primary universities across the United States including Harvard, Columbia , Stanford, Johns Hopkins and others. 34 medical schools have included CAM courses in the basic curriculum. Some of these universities have even set up departments to incorporate Qui Gong in Bethesda, MD and more into their research criteria.

Finding a Qualified Instructor

Where do you locate a qualified instructor? Well, go to tai chi schools, acupuncture and martial arts institutions. Get referrals from people you trust. You can also find an excellent resource, the NQA directory, which is a listing of instructors at www.NQA.org . Don't forget to assess the instructor's background and experience. Check out his a class and evaluate whether it is right for you.
