Bell and Ross Replica Watches

In 1992, two young Frenchmen Bruno Belamich and Carlos Rosillo launched a watch brand that will convey the retro-style of jet-age avionics - but they cannot simply name the brand Belamich et Rosillo. Needing something more American friendly, they abbreviated their names to Bell & Ross. From the beginning, their watches were inspired by airplane cockpit dials; this is even observed in the Bell and Ross replica watches found on the Internet now. That being said, their most recent model, the BR 03 Type Aviation, was made especially for the French Air Force. The project manager, Arnaud Vidal, mentioned that ArmÇe de l'Air was interested in something that encourages esprit de corps among flyers and one that's not worn by just any wrist. "If I'm a fighter pilot and I'm going to war," Vidal contends, "I don't want my little sister wearing the same watch as me."

They were looking for a watch with certain characteristics that are useful for flying, like a reverse-marked bezel that lets one use the minute hand as a countdown timer. The face also has functions that are all controlled by one crown and it has vaguely luminescent markings - this then avoids side-buttons from cluttering your watch. Still, the functions of the aviation watch are useful to any earthbound citizen even if some Bell & Ross watches have qualities that are really mission-specific (e.g. anti-magnetic timepiece for bomb-disposal experts).

The weight of the watch, however, is such that it's an amazemet pilots can wear it: hit 9 Gs at Mach 2 and you might find the watch, and your wrist with it, plastered to the canopy of your Mirage. This, on the other hand, didn't hinder everyone, including pilots, from loving Bell & Ross watches - even the replica ones.
